The Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine (SIIM) yesterday announced it has embarked on initiatives that provide resources for imaging informatics professionals (IIPs), including those preparing for the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII) Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) exams.
Coordinating the effort through its IIP Education Advisory Network (EAN), SIIM has completed the overall educational learning objectives for each of the 10 domains of the ABII TCO. As its goal for this year, EAN seeks to delve one to three levels deeper than the ABII TCO outline and create a knowledge-based outline using the educational learning objectives as the basis.
Expanded online resources will be featured on the SIIM Web site under a new Imaging Informatics Professional section, which will include up-to-date information, frequently asked questions, and documents on SIIM educational initiatives and position statements for IIPs.
The SIIM Board of Directors recently approved and released a position statement on IIP education and ABII certification.
