Siemens Provides Wounded U.S. Soldiers State-of-the-Art Imaging Care

Traumatic brain injuries (TBI) are among the most severe and—unfortunately—common wounds that servicemen and women have received during their tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The recently opened National Intrepid Center of Excellence for Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury (NICoE) is giving these wounded warriors a place to carry on their recovery, and Siemens has provided a potent weapon to turn the tide in their favor. The company’s Biograph mCT is a large bore, high-performance PET-CT system that enables a 10-minute whole-body scan in comfort. The system features the company’s TrueV extended field of view and a high-definition PET.

The system will allow the specialists at the 72,000-square-foot treatment and rehabilitation center the ability to develop unique treatment strategies for the veterans it cares for.
