Sectra Implements Image Sharing for Norwegian Hospital System

The European division of Sectra, Shelton, Conn, will provide a centralized radiology image sharing solution for a public Norwegian hospital chain. The solution will serve the most densely populated part of the Norwegian health care system.

The hospital chain provides professional care for a region with a population of 1.5 million Norwegians and comprises four hospitals, which perform a total of 700,000 radiology examinations annually.

Sectra’s solution will integrate the image management systems of three different PACS vendors and also ensure the systems work with the hospitals’ enterprise-wide Electronic Patient Record system.

Once implemented, the hospital system will have a unified, patient-centric workflow throughout the enterprise, allowing for increased collaboration between radiologists and referring physicians.
