Writer Guidelines

Following the guidelines below, submit articles for review to Marianne Matthews at

  1. Submit contributed articles via e-mail as an MS-Word attachment (.doc).
  2. Articles should be approximately 1500-1700 words in length.
  3. Use only one space after a period.
  4. Use AMA style for the references section.
  5. Please note: Imaging Economics does not accept vendor-specific articles, that is, articles authored by executives/employees of medical equipment manufacturing companies.
  6. Imaging Economics does accept contributed articles authored by physicians, researchers, association professionals, and industry experts such as, but not limited to, health care attorneys, recruitment professionals, finance/leasing experts, safety experts, etc.
  7. Include a brief author's biography (3 to 6 sentences) that includes your contact info (preferably email), current job title, credential abbreviations, where you work, city and state.
  8. Color photos, illustrations, graphs, etc., are welcome. Include full captions with all images. We like to print author photos, so don't hesitate to send a photo of yourself. Images must be hi-resolution, color 300 dpi, JPEG files preferred.
  9. If your article is accepted for publication, Imaging Economics will send you a copyright agreement, which must be signed and submitted by you prior to printing.
  10. Plagiarism, as defined by the American Medical Association "is the appropriation of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without giving appropriate credit."* Plagiarism is serious scientific misconduct and possibly actionable copyright violation. Cite all sources when borrowing ideas or words. It does not matter how much, or how little, information is borrowed, you must cite the source.
