Digital imaging has become a reality at Heartland Regional Medical Center of St. Joseph, Mo., with the installation of a suite of Carestream DR units.

The 361-bed medical center recently installed six CARESTREAM DRX-1 Systems, five CARESTREAM DRX-Mobile Retrofit Kits, and two CARESTREAM DRX-Evolution systems in its general radiology rooms, moving the facility from CR to DR.

Among the areas the wireless, cassette-sized DRX-1 detector will be serving are the existing mobile x-ray systems in Heartland’s ER and OR suites and in the main radiology department. DRX-1 detectors will also provide image capture for general radiology rooms and a new fluoroscopy room.

A DRX-Evolution system with two detectors will also be installed in Heartland’s 45-room ER, and a second will be placed in one of the facility’s outpatient imaging centers.
